Two weeks after releasing official pics of the exterior of its still-unveiled Preface, Geely, one of the biggest Chinese automakers, has now just released images of their upcoming sedan’s interior.
Geely attempted to design a cockpit based on the aviation industry. That is quite evident judging by the jet throttle-inspired shifter and massive navigation screens. The large 12.3-inch screen is simply stunning. Moreover, Geely incorporated a digital instrument cluster, which shows relevant information to the driver. Another posh feature, especially for a Chinese car, is the Bose high-performance audio system.
The cabin is also extra spacious — Obviously, Geely focused on comfort a lot with this one. Furthermore, there are the now-critical USB and power ports below the center console. Meanwhile, all driving controls, such as electronic brake, automatic brake hold, and drive modes, sit above the console.
The cabin looks extra modern and adds extravaganza with high-quality and perfectly blended colored materials. To enhance the overall experience of the passengers, the automaker did not leave any stone unturned. The Preface also has a system that cleans and perfumes the air, high-quality leather seats, and the luxurious materials used for the door cards, armrest, steering wheel were given a makeover, only add to the opulent interior.
As of now, we have no information on Preface’s engine. Nonetheless, we expect it to have a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four producing 187 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. However, we’ll have to wait for the manufacturer to confirm our suspicions.
The Preface sedan will initially be available in China later this year. Fortunately, Geely plans to launch the sedan globally at a later date. However, we assume that this really means “to launch the Preface to the European market too.” It’s not the first time we hear about a Chinese manufacturer planning to release its vehicles to the North-American market, but none of them did yet.
