Hyundai has released a new teaser of the upcoming 2022 Tuscon, revealing a futuristic design while also promising to offer both short and long wheelbases.
The decision to offer both short and long wheelbases really puts the Tucson in a category of its own within the compact SUV segment. Sales and availability of each variant will depend on the regional demand and aims to reach a wider audience.
Hyundai really seems to have taken the interior to a whole new level with its dual-cockpit layout, offering ample space along with more intuitive technology and infotainment features. The spacious interior, called ‘INTERSPACE’ by the manufacturer, gives a sense of peace and creates a comfortable environment for the passengers.
On the other hand, the exterior of the vehicle exhibits boldness and enthusiasm. Released pictures of the Tucson have highlighted the improved headlamp architecture called ‘Parametric Hidden Lights,’ featuring jewel-like studded daytime running light (DRLs).
The fourth-generation Tucson is bigger than its previous generation, and the short overhang and long hood give it a coupe-like structure.
“The mission of ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ is to elevate the emotional qualities of automotive design. We want our customers to feel moved. With the all-new Tucson, we are introducing its ultimate evolution and a definitive statement about Hyundai’s unstoppable forward momentum.” said SangYup Lee, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Design Centre.
Hyundai’s ‘Parametric Dynamic’ exterior design is intended to express a bold and unstoppable attitude while the interior provides a calming and comfortable space. A little like a Ying-Yang relationship, Tucson really brings the best of both worlds. Space, design, and technology each contain the essence and the spirit of enthusiasm that Tucson has been designed to reflect.
The Tucson’s official press conference will be streamed online on September 15th, 2020, at 9:30 am KST.
