Toyota is giving its Camry hybrid a complete makeover, and it’s all set to hit European showrooms soon.
Easily one of the most recognizable cars in the world, the Camry has long been the flag bearer of Toyota’s excellent build quality, reliability, and safety. With over 19 million units sold to date, the world’s best-selling sedan has been winning the hearts of people across the globe. Riding on its own success, the 2021 Hybrid Camry gets a host of updated features alongside a sleek yet more muscular design.
Posh interiors and an updated infotainment system
Adding to Camry Hybrid’s elegance is its lavish new interior. For instance, the instrument panel, console panel, and door switch panel now come with two newly developed finishes, the Black Engineered Wood and the subtle Titanium Line Pattern.
Even the newly-developed Beige or Black premium leather seat upholstery features beautiful herringbone-pattern perforations to ease the airflow. To top it all off, the new Camry comes with a standard 9-inch center console-mounted infotainment touchscreen supporting a host of latest features, including Android Auto and Apple Carplay.
Safety and Driver Assistance technology
Safety is Toyota’s number one priority. The company has heavily invested in improving its Toyota Safety Sense system. Nonetheless, Toyota’s Pre-Collision System (PCS) also gets its fair share of updates along with front-to-front oncoming vehicle detection, Emergency Steering Assist (ESA), and Intersection Turn Assistance.
Toyota does not stop here. The Camry Hybrid also comes with the latest driver assistance technologies like Full Range Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Road Sign Assist (RSA), and Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control.
Toyota’s famous Lane Trace Assist (LTA) helps customers to keep their cars in the center of the lane, all while keeping an eye on other vehicles deviating from their routes.
Engine and Performance
Based on the new Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, the 2020 Camry Hybrid marries incredible design and aesthetics with its excellent build quality and driver comfort.
Power comes from a 2.5-liter self-charging hybrid-electric drivetrain producing 218 hp.
The all-new 2020 Camry hybrid gets a redefined exterior complete with a new front bumper alongside newly designed upper and lower grilles. Moreover, the lower grille bars dynamically extend to the sides, giving the car a wider and sportier look. Apart from that, lower grille bars are also available in either a Black or Dark Grey finish. Customers can opt for 17-inch alloy wheels featuring twisted V-shaped spokes for a sporty appearance or 18-inch alloys with bright machined and twisted dark spokes.
Additional color options include the elegant Deep Metal Grey. Also, looking at the car’s overall aesthetics, the 2020 Camry hybrid closely resembles its Corolla sibling.
